A complete restyling was conceived with the specific intent of reclaiming the old floorings, doors and ceilings. This allowed the original allure to be “restored” to the premises which are, in turn, warmed by the caramel tones of the original parquet floors and by the colour palette chosen.
The sole modern exceptions have been: the choice of materials used to fill the empty spaces within the parquet floors in the rooms and in the corridor, and the layout of the only bathroom. The latter is a concentrate of industrial refinement, from the sink, originally a petrol tank, to the mixer tap, the pressure barometer and, last but not least, the drain, a fire prevention pressure valve.
The old lighting layout has been restored and enriched throughout save for the bathroom, where a LED lighting has been used.
The colour scheme was developed in line with the conservative approach adopted for the spaces, thus a palette of soft but luminous shades was chosen.
Where possible, all the original flooring has been restored and a self-levelling industrial compound called “Livellina” has been used to fill the empty spaces and give continuity. Industrial recycled and reclaimed materials, such as scaffolding planks and industrial pipes, have been used for the kitchen and bathroom fittings.
